Why Build Time?
Career Opportunities
Prior to the pandemic, pilot demand was at its highest point in the history of aviation. After experiencing the fluctuation as a result, the demand is now steadily climbing and airlines are hiring again. We want you to be ready and able to fly for your dream job as our industry returns to its grand heights.
The Opportunity Cost
After building time with us, you’ll not only get to the airlines quicker, but you’ll make more money in your Aviation Career:

Traditionally, pilots will become a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) after obtaining the other certificates and ratings required to become a professional pilot. By that point, they have about 250 hours and need to build at least 550 more before they can even submit an application to a Regional Airline. It can take up to 2 years or more of instructing to build those 550 hours. While looking at the above graphic, notice that you’ll never catch up if you stick to the traditional path. Here at Odyssey Pilot Hours, you can build those hours in about 4 months or less. This gets you to your First Officer seat almost 2 years quicker, which leads to greater lifetime gains:
Because there is a Forced Retirement Age in the Airlines (and even if there wasn’t, everyone gets old), each day that you’re not a Captain is one day less of Captain pay, and that adds up. Kickstarting your career by 2 years comes with the benefit of an extra $600,000 in your pocket before you’re forced to retire.

If you were told that you’d retire with an additional $600,000 in exchange for $60k now, what would you say?
How Do I Build Time?
The Pilot-In-Command (PIC) and The Safety Pilot
What is a “Safety Pilot”? A Safety Pilot is a rated pilot who helps maintain visual separation from other aircraft, clouds, and terrain while another pilot is wearing view limiting devices (under the hood) for the purposes of simulating instrument conditions.
Why does this matter? According to CFR 91.109 and CFR 61.51, as long as the PIC is under the hood, both the PIC and the Safety Pilot can log the flight time as “PIC time”.
The Safety Pilot cannot log PIC time during taxi, takeoff, runup, and landing because the PIC cannot be under the hood during these procedures. Therefore, our pilots will alternate between being the PIC and the Safety Pilot between flights to equally build hours in tandem.
The ODYSSEY PILOT HOURS Solution
At a Split Rate of just $125 per hour, you will be provided with a guaranteed seat in a 2023 or newer, glass cockpit TAA.
IT COSTS HOW MUCH?
$125/hr
Our time building program has one, all-inclusive, hourly rate. That means fuel, oil, lodgings, scheduling, maintenance, even snacks, at no additional cost. We take away your flight hour headache so you can focus on what’s most important: actually flying. Say no to “down for maintenance”, say no to unreliable flying partners, and say yes to all-in-one, Odyssey convenience.
The cost of living in Denver, Colorado is 28% more than the average American home, and 33% more in Erie, Colorado. Odyssey will also provide a beautiful home for pilots to stay at no additional cost! You will be paired with another pilot who you will fly 30-50 PIC hours a week with, however you’ll have a room all to yourself.
We will create your weekly flying schedule including aircraft assignments, and pair you with a flying partner for logistical ease. You will have time between flights for meals and downtime. We want you to build your time as fast as possible while maintaining rest, nutrition, and well-being.
With our aircraft under such a rigorous schedule, they need constant attention. We meet this challenge unflinchingly thanks to our in-house mechanic staff and well stocked inventory of aircraft parts.
